This collection is based off of 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." How easy it can be to let fear find its way into our mind? I find it interesting that the thing God did not give is often the exactly whats keeps us from pursing what we should as Christians.

We want to teach others the gospel, but we fear.

We want to defend the faith against ongoing sin in the world, but we fear.

We want to submit our life to God, but continue to cling to worldliness because we fear.

We want to obey, but we fear.

Too often, fear is the barrier that we allow come between us and godliness. When Paul and Timothy were teaching, it was not God's will that either of them be fearful in their teaching, but that they would exhibit power, love ,and self-control. In our Christianity, this is what we are to display, and is often what breaks through the barriers of fear that we allow. My hope is that when you wear a piece from this collection, you are reminded of this truth! May we never allow fear to keep us from professing godliness.
